My website career began after I reached the ago of 50. Out of work due to a work injury that had me on disability for close to three years, I began fiddling around with HTML. At the time, Barnes and Noble offered free online classes taught by experts. All I had to do was purchase a book that corresponded with the class. Before I knew it, I was hooked. Soon, I went to school to learn Dreamweaver, Flash (which I flunked), Photoshop and other software.
Eventually, I became a Virtual Assistant and I ended up moving away from website design mainly because I really never got good enough at Dreamweaver. When WordPress came on the scene I jumped at the chance to get back into Website design. Although I don’t code anymore, I do create simple, clean WordPress Websites and Blogs for my clients. If you need something fancy or custom built – then I will connect you with my good friend and AMAZING graphic artist and Website designer, Talis!
When I lived in California I was a member of ETC Women’s Networking, and volunteered my time at the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center. For six years, I wrote a column called, Ask Eydie, for the Press Enterprise (Riverside County, California).
Now that I live in Arizona leading a semi-retired life, I’m enjoying life as a senior but I’ve still got my hands on the keyboard and building Websites, Blog, and even doing some VA work every now and then.
On a personal note, I have three wonderful daughters, three beautiful granddaughters, and one loving cat named Tommy who cuddles with me every morning and every night. During the day – he couldn’t care less about me. LOL
